ALBION UPDATE

The iconic Albion brand has a new home

We are proud to secure and revitalise the historic Albion brand through the acquisition of the ‘Albion’ intellectual property and registration of the Albion Hat & Cap Co business name.

Since 1941, Albion has been synonymous with Australian cricket and sport more broadly. The brand is most famously known as the maker of the iconic “Baggy Green” — one of the most revered and recognisable symbols in Australian sport — produced by Albion for Australia’s Test cricketers from 1957 to 2016. Albion also played a pioneering role in the late 1970s with the successful development of protective cricket helmets, with Albion C&D helmets worn by the majority of international players for nearly four decades. Despite this rich history, the past decade has presented challenges for the brand.

In 2026, our Centurion Sports and Headwear brand will transition to operate under the iconic Albion name. Over the past 13 years, Centurion has grown to become Australia’s largest and most trusted supplier of baggy caps and cricket headwear.

Our vision is to take Albion “back to basics” — focusing on exceptional quality and dependable service as a leading supplier of baggy cricket caps and headwear for clubs, schools, sporting organisations and customers.

We look forward to the journey ahead as we restore and build upon the Albion legacy, bringing together the strengths of both brands for the future.
